“Peter was amazing at Qualtrics – he brought an awesome energy to the room that got people fired up, dancing and learning at the same time. It was a great experience from start to finish and I can’t wait to hear him speak again.”
Ryan Smith – co-founder Qualtrics
Dr Peter Lovatt – aka Dr Dance – is an international speaker.
Using his unique STEP approach – he talks about the science of movement and demonstrates the power of groove.
Peter’s motivational keynotes take you through his personal journeys of learning to read as an adult – and surviving cancer during covid-lockdown – both with the help of movement.
Peter loves to share ideas around how movement can help people to connect with others. How standing up and taking a few steps can help people to think differently and become more creative problem-solvers. How movement can have a positive impact on people’s mental wellbeing, and how keeping physically active can add years to people’s lives, as well as adding life to their years.
Each talk can be tailored to the themes of your event.
Peter isn’t a stand-still-and-talk kind of speaker. He thinks better when he’s moving. You’ll see.
Dr Peter Lovatt’s sessions are the perfect combination of science-infused story telling – and groove.
Dr Peter Lovatt is a Psychologist and former professional dancer. He spent over twenty years working in university research labs, where he looked at the relationship between the brain and the body. His extraordinary findings show that when you move, you improve. The human brain is specialised for movement, and when you move your body you optimise the brain’s performance.
Peter’s keynotes are about human movement, and the impact movement has on our relationships, our thinking and our emotions.
Peter delivers groovy keynotes which, in the words of Qualtrics CEO, Ryan Smith, bring an awesome energy to the room and get people fired up.
“Yo, good job!”
One of Peter’s favourite keynote sessions was in 2018. He was speaking between Lin-Manuel Miranda, the creator of the smash-hit musical Hamilton, and Earvin “Magic” Johnson, the legendary basketball superstar. As he came off stage, to a standing ovation, he was fist-bumped by “Magic”, who said with a deep and slow voice, “Yo, good job”.
Since then, Peter has shared keynote sessions with the chat-show legend, Oprah Winfrey, the 44th President of the USA, Barack Obama, the founder of the Virgin group, Sir Richard Branson, the Oscar-winning actor, Geena Davis and the co-founder of Apple computers, Steve “the Woz” Wozniak. Peter Lovatt is an in-demand, world-class speaker.
Peter sometimes includes his own inspirational stories in his keynote presentations. He speaks about how he overcame a severe reading difficulty as an adult and went on to win a post-doctoral position in the Faculty of English at Cambridge University, and how, during the covid-lockdown, he was diagnosed with stage 3 bowel cancer.
